Daniel’s Website

I just finished the first edition of Daniel Mount’s garden website. Go check it out and don’t forget to read his journal!

Daniel Mount Garden Consultation and Design

Drat!

The car deal went sour when we made a deal, but it fell through. Drat, I liked that car and I’m a stickler for not paying more than a car is worth to me.

Auto Inspection

I want to put a copy of the auto inspection here so folks at brickboard can check it out.

Cars and Pink Bunny

I found my car. It is a volvo 544 that I am going to buy and put 4k into to fix up. It’s crazy, but it’ll be great.

I got some feedback on Pink Bunny, someone in Daniel’s turning class has a son who now will only listen to pink bunny stories. I have the t-shirts ready, I just need to order more in children’s sizes.

Another Car Tested

I found a beautiful 544 and I got it checked out and I got this close to buying it and I didn’t.

I feel frustrated because I was close to buying it and my intuition said “no.”

It had 20 years of storage and there were just a few too many obstacles. Most of the systems in the car needed serious attention. It is a beauty though, with a custom wood boat style interior and leather seats and it is painted a buttery yellow which Jennifer just fell in love with. I felt finicky and frustrated with myself for going through all the trouble of checking it out and stuff and then he gave me a reasonable price on it and then I didn’t take it. When I ask my intuition and it gives me a clear answer, I can’t argue.

The Car Hunt Continues

Today I work on Daniel’s website for his garden business. I’m excited about it because I get to work on it from the ground up and make it simple and good.

I’m still on the lookout for an old mercedes diesel or volvo. I found one in Oly, but it needs breaks, muffler, and headliner, but it looks cherry with no rust. Could be a little tricky to get it checked out though. There is also one down the street for sale that I would like to go have checked out because it is in nice shape.

I am also tempted to buy a ford ranger or a car like my brother’s so that I can just have a low miles car.

continue the car hunt

Someone else got the sweet old mercedes before I could get it. :(

I looked at a 1969 saab 96 but it needed too much work.

Then I went and fell in love with an old volvo 544.

I’m gonna go see it next week and get it checked out. Should be fun. I wish it was black instead of cream. I can’t wait to drive one.

I’m still open to a diesel, but they are hard to find and checking craigslist every hour doesn’t help.

Oh, and I found the veggie car on ebay which is a 1971 datsun 240z with a diesel engine in it that can run on biodiesel or just diesel.

Car Buying Frenzy

My bro got the coolest new inexpensive car out there, and he picks it up tomorrow.

I’m a little stressed out about getting my car because I want a car that is low maintenance, but looks cool. I’m on the verge of getting either a 60’s mercedes, volvo, or saab and all of those are going to break. My bro will be driving circles around me looking cool in my broken car. Sigh. Should I cave and follow in my bro’s footsteps and buy the worlds coolest econobox or should I hold true to my instinct to buy a heavy tank that will break down?

I get the mercedes checked out Friday and have a 1969 saab 96 and volvos (p1800 and 122) in the wings. I still hope the benz checks out so I can convert it to biodiesel and greasel and drive around smelling like popcorn.
