Jennifer and I have been talking about looking for a house so we went out today and looked at some. We decided that we don’t like West Seattle. We like Madison Valley all the way to the Rainier Valley and over to Beacon Hill. It’s a little tricky because for the amount we can spend we can really only afford a fixer in Seattle and there are lots of investors looking for fixers to fix up and sell at a profit. One of the ones we looked at was on Orcas St. and was like 600 sq. ft. of space with vinyl siding over rotting wood and a muddy yard with an old rusty swing-set skeleton in the backyard for $190k. We also found a nice house in Columbia City that was avocado green (the color of house I predict we will buy) and has a weird pile of junk in the backyard for $365k. That one has been on the market since October though. We ran in to Jacqueline on Beacon Hill and she satiated us with tea which was a nice break from the bleak search.
