Go read Jennifer’s post about the transit strike here in NYC. Here’s an excerpt to tempt you.
The majority of the news coverage here has focused on the mayor’s insistance that the strike is illegal, which has been followed by vicious mudslinging towards the workers. Where is the news coverage for the strike’s supporters? A recent poll has said that 38% of New Yorkers are in favor of the strike–yet I have not heard word one from the general public in favor of the strike in the news.
Vlog-casting our visit with Craig Hymson from Cabin Creek Films, we have arrived in NYC to a transit strike!
Jennifer reminded me last night that my New Year’s resolution last year was to find a community of creative people that I could hang out with. I don’t remember making that resolution, but I’m really happy to have it come true by joining the vlogging community. It just goes to show that even wishes that you forget you made can come true! I feel very supported by my watchers and subscribers and the peeps out there checking out what I do. Thanks go out to the vloggospere for accepting me and supporting me.
The I Love You Project is the video that got me video-blogging this year. I made it as a video installation and when I couldn’t find a place to host it, I put it on my blog here and became a vlogger. Recently, I cross posted a shorter version to videoart.net.
The I Love You Project is a silent video art installation that focuses on 16 people who each repeat the phrase “I Love You.” Visually overexposed and intentionally silent, emotions play out over the participants’ faces as they move through emotions and glow with compassion.
Special thanks go out the participants who opened their hearts and shared them with me, the camera, and now with you. May the love that they show on this video inspire more love in the world.
Participants: John Ryser, Gretchen Yanover, Michael Boudreux, Daniel Mount, Paulo Raden, Jennifer Parker-Shuler, Jennifer Rundle, Matt Cibelli, Nils Dickmann, Chuck Pettis, Claudia Pettis, Joan Beardsley, Lucas Jacob, Eric Borgeson, Lyden Hoover, and Jake Nelson
Hon Boey got some kindergarten style illustrations and had adults redo them. The results have my wheels turning. How can I make this into a class project for my sixth grade art class?
Steve sent me this link.
Update: The downside to these artworks is that they aren’t very derivative. Some of the drawings don’t look anything like the origionals!

Here I am with evil eyes at the engadget meetup!
I wrote this for Kindergarteners to sing to their parents at a winter concert. They wore these really cute construction paper penguin hats that my brother helped me make. This version adds a new verse!
