Bre Pettis I Make Things
Categories: Old Posts

This is my first video podcast for the make blog. Peter Zdebski makes things. He’s working on an imdb aimbot. It will make querying the imdb database for ratings go a lot faster on his sidekick. He also showed me the night vision illuminator he made from a mish-mash of parts he got at Frye’s.

I want to see the toy in action! Where do you meet these people, you’ve got connections with tonnes of interesting ones!

And I have a suggestion. When you’re doing an interview it looks more professional to cut back to the interviewer every once in a while for a ‘noddy.’ This is your reaction to what’s being said, and makes the whole interview look more realistic and interactive. Even if you only have a one camera setup, you can film a small assortment of noddies after the shoot and play with them in the edit. My personal favorites are the little smirk and head nod, the grabbing for the chin, and the raised eyebrow.
