Imagine, you and your team of 1-4 arrive at Union Square at 5pm and text message the puppet master (me) and you’re playing. You approach a small group who you think might be playing and you give them one of the three compliments. These compliments are your weapons and you win! They respond with groans and moans because you have assasinated the team! They give up their booty (treasure) to you and join your team. You text the puppet master to log your assasination and go stealthily in search of another team to kill with a compliment! At 6pm, there will be an awards ceremony at the South end of the park!

Cruel 2 B Kind is designed and developed by Jane McGonigal and Ian Bogost and will be fun! Get your friends together and sign up! If you take photos, upload them to flickr pool and tag them C2BKNYC.

MoloTwitter - GPS Twittering

mologogo phone

I got a boost phone up and running yesterday. It takes a fair bit of fussing with the folks just to get the thing started, then I installed the mologogo software and got it set up with my twittering info and I’m good to go. I’m sure I lost a few twitter friends last night when I went out and broadcast my gps coordinates every minute on twitter… What? You don’t want to know my exact location every minute? Are you my for-realsy twitter friend? Check out the carnage at my twitter page. - Link

I have to admit that this boost phone loaded up with mologogo is pretty sweet, if I was just visiting the country for a short time, I’d get one and actually use it as a phone instead of just a beaconing device! They also show local traffic, other mologogo users, and weather conditions!

Twitter Action

Has anyone heard of anything else going on with Twitter?

My friend Brady Forrest and I used Twitter at IgniteSeattle, and kept running commentary at our geek night event.

We did something similar to what was done at SXSWi and projected all the twitters up on a wall so people could see the mobile conversation in public.

I also had a friend write me up a little script that takes the rss feeds from O’Reilly’s Make:, Craft:, and Hacks: blogs so that every fifteen minutes it pings twitter with any new blog posts so that folks can stay connected to the blog when they are mobile with twitter.

One of the main things that twitter is good at is gathering people together for events. Scott Beale is the expert at twitterbaiting and rallying people to gather using twitter.

My friend Elliott Malkin is twittering the story of Moby Dick. It is the best way to read Moby Dick ever.

What are you doing with Twitter?

Photogamer Challenge #9: Small Things! - Due Sunday, April 15

This week, it’s all about the small things.

Go forth and take photos of small things. By small, I mean smaller than your fist. That’s right, we’re mixing it up this week.

Take as many pictures of small things that you can find.

You’ve got to have at least 5 to post to the winner’s circle, but that shouldn’t hold you back, take as many as you can find! Who will find the most small things? Who will find the most interesting small thing? Who will find the small thing that gets favorited the most? Who will find the smallest small thing? Who will shoot the small thing that gets the most comments? Who will take a picture of the smallest thing that is alive?

Tag each photo with “photogamer” and “smallthing.”
