Have you always wanted to get into power tool drag racing, but just never had the… um… tools? Rusty and the gang are inviting folks over to the Hazard Factory on Saturdays to use the shop and make some racers. Bring what you’ve got or stop by goodwill for some power tools and then go over there and hack it all up into a drag racer!

Jeremy has made up an instructable to get you on your way with some roller blades and a circular saw. - Link
Eddie got stuck in NYC and stayed over last night and this morning we sat down to play PMOG over breakfast. It’s a Passive Multiplayer Online Game. It’s a game and a firefox plugin that tracks your internet surfing and you get points!
It’s just starting and it’s addictive. You can go on quests that folks have set up which are basically a few web sites to go and learn things. Here is a quest that I went on to learn about a musical instrument called the reactable. - Link
The quest took me to a page about the instrument and to a video of Bjork integrating it into her performance.
It would be cool if there was like a multiple choice test to take after going on a quest to verify that you didn’t just click on the links without reading everything.
In the gaming world, it’s super clever and fun and so it’s rewarding! Already I’m thinking about the way that aggregating the data from the game could be really interesting!
You can join the game or at least go check it out at bud.com.

This weekend, learn how to hack your brain by making Mitch Altman’s Brain Machine! It flashes LEDs into your eyes and beeps sounds into your ears to make your brain waves sync up into beta, alpha, theta, and delta brainwaves!
Mitch invents cool things that make the world a better place. He’s well known for the TV-B-GONE and this brain machine is his latest project. One of the cool things about this project, is that it builds on an open source project. Mitch used Lady Ada’s open source MiniPOV and switched out LEDs and added new capacitors and resistors and then rewrote the firmware to make it into the brain machine. It’s super cool when people make hardware open source so that others can work with it!

Make sure to take pictures of your build and of you in your brain machine and upload them to the Make: flickr pool.
Weekend Projects is sponsored by microchip.com. Check out their seminars and 16 bit contest.

This weekend is Maker Faire and Cyenobite suggested a Maker Faire challenge. You don’t have to be here to do these challenges although if you’re in the San Francisco area, how can you resist! (Disclosure: I work for Make: Magazine.)
Cyenobite says:
Hey yeah! How many photogamers are going to the maker faire? I’ll be there too (Sunday only). We should all wear a red rose or something
Challenge ideas? 1) A Robot 2) Something with an LED 3) A plushie (or soft handcrafted animal). 4) a concession that you ate 5) Bonus: Something you made
(These could also be completed by those photogamers not able to make it to the maker faire)
Game on! If your not at the faire and can’t get concession food, then get some junk food or take out from somewhere!
Post your photos to the photogamer flickr group. If you get all five, post them to the winner’s circle and if you’re at Maker Faire, come find me and introduce yourself as a photogamer!

This weeks photogamer challenge went really great. - Link
