Mousey is a mouse made of scavenged materials. Above is a common LM 386 Op Amp which is the chip that balances the input from the IR emitters to make the robot light seeking. If you’re not a scavenger you can also get the parts from solarbotics.com.

Weekend Projects is sponsored by Microchip Technology. Check out their seminars and 16 bit contest.

Make sure to download the pdf and read the article for all the background and step by step instructions! If you want to get the Make: Video Podcast and PDFcast downloaded automatically, you can subscribe in itunes. - Link

I’ve enjoyed Gareth’s writing for a while and it was great to finally meet him at Maker Faire. He was giving workshops on how to make Mousey the Junkbot and I got him to explain a little bit about it on tape and got inspired to make my own Mousey. Gareth wrote the article that appears in this pdf and was originally published in Make: Volume 2. Download it and you’ve got all the instructions you need to make a light seeking computer mouse! - PDF Link
