I need a new look!

Update: New look achieved for now.

I need a new look for this blog. That header image is old and I haven’t changed it for a year. In your opinion, what would you make it look like! All suggestions welcome!

Make a Miniature Moustache!

This week, Christine (aka iheartmoustaches) breaks it on down and shows us how to use #6 plastic to create miniature moustaches! (Christine has made a bunch of these in the past, as she is a lover of the moustache in all its various forms.) #6 plastic is not recyclable in New York and so this is a great way to upcycle those strawberry containers and Chinese take out containers and keep them out of the landfill. This project is awesome for people who need a moustache on the go.

She’s also open sourcing two of her moustache designs.  You can download "The Professor" and "The Lady’s Man" in this pdf

We did some measuring and the moustaches started out 6 inches wide and ended up 2 1/4 inches wide.  That means it shrunk to almost 1/3 its original size!

Give me 3 specific predictions for the future of the web.

1. The internet will fail on December 13, 2008. We will all struggle like fish out of water for 3 days.
2. Starting June 15th, we will all have our webcams on all the time and we will be able to watch our friends sleep.
3. in 2009, my cellphone will not only be an internet browser, but it will also be an electric shaver, and bat detector.

Things and Things

I had pancakes this morning with friends. It turns out that molasses is good on pancakes, like, really good.

I spent the rest of the day with NYCR folks and Sean Bonner who has been staying here this week. Sean is one of those guys that is constantly plotting to make the world more awesome and it’s inspiring to be hanging out. Plus he is vegan, NOT canadian, and that means eating yummy food.

I shared a few bottles of specially imported Club-Mate with friends today. Lisa had brought me two bottles from Berlin. It is the best drink in the universe. Yum. Yum Yum.

In other food news, I had a cupcake for lunch and chocolate cake for dinner. It’s officially cake day.

I’ve been dealing with taxes this weekend. It only took me a day to itemize all the deductions from the last year!

I worked on a special LED kit from Das Labor this afternoon. Once I get the LED matrix together, I’ll post pictures.

I dont’ watch very many movies. Part of me wants to see more so that I can be smarter in the movie reference conversations, but it’s so much time! What are your must see movies in life? What ones do you reference in conversation all the time?
