Things and Things

I had pancakes this morning with friends. It turns out that molasses is good on pancakes, like, really good.

I spent the rest of the day with NYCR folks and Sean Bonner who has been staying here this week. Sean is one of those guys that is constantly plotting to make the world more awesome and it’s inspiring to be hanging out. Plus he is vegan, NOT canadian, and that means eating yummy food.

I shared a few bottles of specially imported Club-Mate with friends today. Lisa had brought me two bottles from Berlin. It is the best drink in the universe. Yum. Yum Yum.

In other food news, I had a cupcake for lunch and chocolate cake for dinner. It’s officially cake day.

I’ve been dealing with taxes this weekend. It only took me a day to itemize all the deductions from the last year!

I worked on a special LED kit from Das Labor this afternoon. Once I get the LED matrix together, I’ll post pictures.

I dont’ watch very many movies. Part of me wants to see more so that I can be smarter in the movie reference conversations, but it’s so much time! What are your must see movies in life? What ones do you reference in conversation all the time?

You should have buckwheat pancakes with molasses. It’s the bomb!

Deffinitely Dr. Strangelove and The Princess Bride. Those two are classics.

    Hey Bre,

I just bought some Ikea Lingonberry Preserves… Gonna use them on breakfast food. Never would have tried molasses. I’ll keep that in mind.

One of my all time favorite movies is The Fifth Element. It’s a sci-fi movie with some comedy thrown in. I’ve watched it many times.

Another one I like is The Boondock Saints. Filmed in Boston, it’s a movie about two Irish Brothers who take the law into their own hands. Beautiful scenes of Boston in it. I was a PA on that movie.

Ten important, if obviously so, movies. In no particular order.

    1. Good Fellas
    2. High Fidelity
    3. Annie Hall
    4. Crimes and Misdemeanors
    5. Grosse Pointe Blank
    6. The Fallen Idol
    7. Rear Window
    8. The Departed
    9. Harold and Maude
    10.The Graduate

  5. 5 Marco Ceppi

    Top of my head:

    Planet of the Apes
    Spaceballs
    Lucky Number Slevin
    Shoot ‘em up

I’m a pretty big fan of bruce willis. I think the best thing to do is find an actor/actress you like and watch some of their filmography.

Well I may say that Macross Plus it’s a “must see movie” as the number one, then I consider that you must see:
    Seven
Ghost In The Shell “Solid State Society”
Mignon èt partita (I’m not really sure if this is written well)
    Cinema Paradiso
    Omen
Tron (Many said this one is not a good movie)
What is the Matrix? (Just the first film)
    Fifth Element
    Sin City
    The Corpse Bride
    A nightmare before christmas
    Dobermann
    Apocalyse Now
    Patton
Clash of the Titans (Hephaistos appears in this one)
and many many others that I can’t remember right now.

I heard about the palette of club mate.

FYi, dunno if you’re making it to toorcon this weekend, Jake’s giving a talk on it [along with bringing a couple cases]. I also fedexed two cases of Sol Mate (a canadian facsimile and the easiest closest thing I’ve been able to find in north america), hopefully they’ll arrive in time.

    Be well!

“I dont’ watch very many movies.”

GRL is showing their film at MOMA, May 18th. http://www.moma.org/calendar/poprally

Not really a movie but it’s most likely going to be better the most of the crap people call films these days.
